Introduction to Hybrid Cars

Hybrid vehicle inception was arranged in 1997 during the release of the Toyota Prius. But it was a success in the 20020 April. When 17 million hybrid electric vehicles were sold at the start of the business, they didn’t succeed because of the low rate of gasoline. But when the petroleum price increased, they started getting sales.

A hybrid electric car in short form is HEV. It has a conventional internal combustion engine and an electric propulsion system. This combination gives the vehicle good fuel efficiency. It also helps to give a nice ride performance. There is a range of hybrid design vehicles. Each vehicle is designed according to the client’s needs and preferences. You can look at its type and then select your type hybrid. It can be buses, trucks, boats, and aircraft. But the most used hybrids are hybrid cars.

Hybrid vehicles have a new technology, which is regenerative brakes. Regenerative brakes convert the vehicle’s kinetic energy into electric energy, stored in a battery or supercapacitor. On the other hand, some hybrid vehicles use an internal combustion engine. That turns the electrical generator on and recharges the batteries. This method is known as a motor generator.

Personal experiences and reviews: Kia Sorento Hybrid and Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid

I will share some reviews on the Kia Sorento Hybrid and Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid:

Kia Sorento Hybrid:

  • Prestige line
  • 5 out of 5 stars
  • 12/04/2023

The safety features include lane assist, side cameras, top-down 360 view, ventilated front seats, and an overall smooth ride. It feels like a luxury vehicle in a more affordable price range. I’m 6’6″ and 290 pounds and have no problems fitting in this vehicle comfortably. Second- and Third-row seating flipped down to unveil an incredibly massive cargo area capable of holding two or three full Costco cartloads of items—cons: No sunglass holder. Vents are not sturdy enough for clip-on accessories. Piano black interior finish areas retain fingerprints and scratches very easily.

Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid:

  • Great Vehicle for the Money
  • 5 out of 5 stars

Hybrid Limited has many features; everything is on my wish list. Fit, finish, and materials are top-notch. Materials are not quite up to a Lexus or BMW, but at least $15K less. It’s averaging about 30MPG; I hoped for a little better, but it’s still great for an SUV this size. I love the infotainment display and buttons on the center console. Seat heating should be on side bolsters, not just at the seat bottom. But these are very minor complaints considering all the features and high quality.

My Opinion

Choosing between the Kia Sorento and the Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid is tough. But this decision should be based on your budget, family members, and your preferences. You can look at all the specifications and features of both cars. Both cars have the same performance. But the Sorento Hybrid has a greater horsepower than a Santa FE hybrid.

I suggest you test both cars to know which car is perfect for you.
